Hi

Thanks for your reply.

The notification hasn't ever shown for me when loading Passy. I do have an account and have stored some test data in it. I also use the universal "software" catalogue which lets you install both Flatpaks and Snaps and it seems this doesn't have the permissions page like the default snap store so I wasn't aware you needed to set a permission. Thanks for the heads up about that.

I set the user directory permission from within the snap store and restarted the PC. Still the same, won't connect. So next I used the command "snap connect passy:native-messaging-hosts" and once again it didn't connect. To make sure this isn't a Firefox add-on issue I installed edge and added Passy to that and it also couldn't connect requesting me to download Passy.

I can't see this would make any difference but just for info I use Ubuntu Cinnamon edition.

I might just try the Flatpak edition and use Flatseal to set the folder permission.

Hello @newpurpleuk !

Unlike the flatpak and portable packages, browser extension support needs to be manually enabled for Passy snap.

If you visit Passy desktop app on your computer it will probably show you a notification regarding its lack of connector-related permissions and will show you a button to open the instructions webpage.

You can find this webpage at https://github.com/GlitterWare/Passy/blob/main/SNAP-STORE.md#enabling-browser-extension-support .

Please make sure that you follow the instructions from there in order to enable browser extension support and you should be able to use it afterwards.

Once you create an account in the app, it will be accessible via the browser extension.

Good luck, I hope that this resolves your problem!

I haven't seen the snap connection fail for me nor for any other Passy users as of yet.

I will keep track of it and will test it on my other systems to see if anything comes up but for now I wish you good luck with the Flatpak package! You will probably be better off using it as a Flatpak either way as it starts faster and has less UI related issues.
