I cannot reproduce this error. I did made a small effort fixing this in version 1.85 by adding a guard. Can you verify it the problem still occurs? If the problem still occurs, can you send me a repository I can use to reproduce the bug?

The crash still occurs in 1.88. However it does not seem to be related to tex files specifically. I created an example repository at http://github.com/mrtazz/gitextensionsstatisticscrash. It contains only three empty tex files and crashes the statistics module on my computer with the same error message.

It happens if there is no code recognised

tested it with 2.09 and an empty repo with just one tex file in it. no code was found and no exception was raised. works for me...
