hi @standerAnder , thanks for the report. What snap7 version are you using? Are you using the debian package or do you compile it yourself?

from python-snap7.

standerAnder avatar standerAnder commented on May 29, 2024

hi,
I use python_snap7-0.2.1
Installed with
pip install python-snap7

from python-snap7.

gijzelaerr avatar gijzelaerr commented on May 29, 2024

i mean the snap7 library, not the python-snap7 package.

standerAnder avatar standerAnder commented on May 29, 2024

oh sorry
it is the Snap7 1.2.0-1 debian package

from python-snap7.

gijzelaerr avatar gijzelaerr commented on May 29, 2024

interesting. I just triggered a build on travis, latest python-snap7 and snap7 1.2.0-1 and I can't replicate your problem:

https://travis-ci.org/gijzelaerr/python-snap7/builds/21434621

can you make sure you are using the correct snap7 library?

Hi spreeker
I often use S7-300 on my job. First I want to try some client stuff.
Maybe it can help me at work or just for fun, but I am not a good
python programmer.
I can already read data from DB out of my S7-300 , wow ;-)

Well great that people can relatively easy read and write to a plc now :-)
Good to know the example code was sufficient. I spend 8 month getting
reliable communication.. i hope no one else has to go through that pain
again !
