I would like to have some comments on this one, so I'm mentioning people, not to force anybody, but do feel free to intervene: @brettadams @RoDuth @tmyersdn @sehrgut @felipead87

@mfrasca I'm not sure of the context of this? Are you talking of adding another field and if so where? When your say 'near', 'on top of', ... are you referring to a plant in the garden or a wild plant that you have collected source material from?
Sorry, don't really understand how you intend on using it so can't really add anything.

it's indeed a wild plant, not yet completely identified. and the collector wants to prevent the question that the taxonomist will pose: this epifite was found on top of which other species? but I think I can leave it out.

In that scenario we include that in the collection info in the "habitat description" field. This is where we describe the associated species (i.e. "Open forest/palustrine wetland sparsely dominated by Melaleuca leucadendra and Livistona decora with some Lophostemon suaveolens. Understory of Imperata cylindrica and some Oplismenus spp and Pteridium esculentum" in your scenario I would add something like "specimen found growing epiphytically upon M. leucadendra" to the end of that statement)
So I agree, leave it out as I believe there is already a way to do it.
(Goes to demonstrate what I was talking about in Bauble/bauble.classic#159 though! Especially when having to add it for every accession collected on a expedition, if you have only 20 its still a lot of work repeating yourself!)
