Can you try with specifiy -c <fullpath to config file> and of course with -D

from gerbera.

Sure. With full path it works, and debug without results in:

$ cat logs/debug

For a list of options run: gerbera -h

$

And:

$ ls -l /usr/share/gerbera/
total 56
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root  4096 Jun 13 15:06 js
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  8168 Jun 13 10:44 mysql-upgrade.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  5749 Jun 13 10:44 mysql.sql

drwxr-xr-x 7 root root  4096 Jun 13 15:06 web
$

Almost all files and subdirs there seem to be new.

Have you given it new locations? Without daemonization it doesn't look there, and finds the correct config.xml

from gerbera.

... and if you wanted to narrow the problem down: 41 was starting up okay.

If I had had access to the intermediate iterations, like earlier, I would have already tried those in between to pinpoint to the flawed one.
