It doesn't strike me as something I would use personally, but I can see why somebody would want it.
I wouldn't replace OK/Dirty, I'd put the branch name to one side or the other of that. Also, please put it under the control of a flag, and default it to off.
But given those couple caveats, yes, I am open to merging a PR that adds this. 8^)

I think maybe then it would be best if I just created a plug-in that would be dynamically included by the app::cmd implementation. Similar to how Dist::Zilla adds extra commands.
