Cannot login anymore via chrome "ChatGPT is at capacity right now" about vscode-chatgpt

Please refresh the page a couple times until you see login page, you may try this if you see ChatGPT capacity error. In my experience it helps. This is unfortunately out of this extension's control. If refreshing works for most, I could consider adding refresh as a functionality.

I sadly find the extension to be unusable at the moment because of this problem … As I mentioned in #52, this appears to be a bug, since login in on a web-browser works almost all the time. Also, @flutterrausch, note that the API key sign in does not let you use ChatGPT but GPT3 which is a bit different, as I got from @gencay. I also have to fall back on this option, however, since signing in on ChatGPT is just impossible rn…

Yeah, I noticed that from time to time. Could you try setting your chromium path to Edge and see if that resolves the issue? You can find the path by going to this url on Edge: edge://version

Any chromium-based browser should work. Depending on your Opera version, it should work though I haven't tested the extension on Opera

The same problem is happening to me in Opera-gx, I'm trying login with default option, already tried change the Chromium path to access .exe from my browser, but it doesn't work.

An about:blank open and a text that the opera introduce to me: "You are using an unsupported command-line flag: --enable-blink-features=IdleDetection. Stability and security will suffer"

The message i received from the extension seems to be a compatibility issue with opera-gx:

OpenAi API key seems much more reliable (tried this first time, since login was infuriating).

@flutterrausch @FelixLangot @SmokeDevL unfortunately, this has been an issue for extensions like this due to throttling the automated browser-based access by the OpenAI. However, with v3.1.2 I added a retry/reload page when there is a ChatGPT is at Capacity error. The page refresh will happen every 1.5 seconds and will be retried 10 times until you see the login page. This should make the browser-based login method a bit more robust in Chrome.

Please update your extensions to v3.1.2 for the fix for this issue. Again thanks for reporting and engaging in this thread!

Chatterbox (Mac ChatGpt app) seems to use your login method, same issue. Not OSS unfortunately, but I would have the contact email.
