@MoOx yeah npm version
is pretty great, but doesn't handle many additional things that potentially need to happen during a release, doesn't have dryrun support (--no-write), nor grunt integration. I happen to really like grunt-release and have big plans for it, but use whatever works best for your project! If you have any suggestions that would improve it or make it more useful for your use cases lemme know.
