It seems the issue is related to AAC LTP. Is there any way to force MediaRecorder always produce AAC LC (which seems working fine)

Hi,

Unfortunately no there is no way to force a specific AAC profile :( What
are you using to decode the AAC? You need a decoder that can handle that
profile, have you tried a flash player like JWPlayer?
On android 4.1 that problem should not presents itself though, because the
MediaRecorder API is not used, AAC encodind is done with the MediaCodec API.

yeah that was smth to do with decoder.
