That way, the content below will change depending on which page it is
but will be mostly static but since the slideshow is something active,
it will catch attention of visitors.
Otherwise, we will need some kind of side panel which will have this
data and also link to register and all. Not sure if we can adjust it in
this template.

I've a solution, lets place a link for register in nav bar which targets a modal, and that modal will contain the registration entries and the countdown timer. And we can give some visual feedback to the link to register so that it stands out (similar to call to action).
