Do we care about the WLAN LED? For VPN users, the WAN LED will blink all the time anyways, and the WLAN LED could help debugging problems like a hung WLAN driver.

(in our legacy firmware, the WLAN LED was configured to be always on and not blink)

I prefer non-blinking LEDs. It's less annoying. Can we get the wifi LED to light up when there are any mesh nodes connected? That would be a useful indicator I think.

Leaving the LED off even though the wifi is enabled is really confusing.

The problem with the LED is that it requires extra configuration for most models, which is really annoying to maintain...

I think so. So far interaction between pre-gluon nodes seems to be fine.
