What's the reasoning here?
Although I agree that there should be a mechanism in the UI to get to the DocketFilter page and select the entire docket without having to manually construct URLs, I really like that the default is to give you as much information as you can get for your ten cents.

From a fee standpoint, it would be better if they served up at least one free page (like in district courts) with basic information so you can confirm that you have the right case. Then you can make a decision on what data you want to pull (and pay for).

For sure!
It's also frustrating that such a page is available to ECF accountholders, although at this point I think all the circuit courts allow creation of notice-only ECF accounts for the general public, so it's not hard to get one. But it's also hidden and not generally accessible from the UI, so that's…a thing.
Of course, we could make a list of all the things District Court CMECF has that Appellate lacks and it would be a mile long…
