This can be something difficult to modify. Normally, a Datetime element can contain two values: any given Datetime (in the case of the WebUI is splitted in date + time selectors) or undefined.

As the datetime element has been already partially defined (i.e., it has a valid date in YYYY-MM-DD format), the time (in HH:MM format) cannot be undefined, so it should be initialized to a "default" value, like 00:00 in this case. So I'm not sure if it would be possible to clear the time field as specified. And if so, it can conflict with the solution defined here: #374
