Hello,
having the same problems by acessing selfoss via https and a non-trusted certificate. Normally browsers do ask, if the content should be trusted. Selfoss brings a comunication error.

I will no longer support the Android app. The jquery mobile interface was not very convenient. I replaced it by a new improved interface for mobile devices. Just checkout the upcoming release 2.0.
