I don't have this installed right now to try. Does it not work anymore?

Excuse me for the delay, I had no PC for a while.
Well, the issue is that, when rendering for somewhat complex geometry, materials are not kept.
Will this be fixed someday?

I don't think I'll be able to do that. It was always tricky, because when you have an edge with two different materials on its two faces, which one should be picked.
Happy to accept contributions though

I'm not sure at all about this, but maybe you could follow the MRossini's approach, here: https://github.com/mrossini-ethz/vector-render

P.S.: Maybe you could object I should use that. Well, not, for two reasons:
- It's not yet compatible with 2.8 (AFAIK)
- It doesn't work with any kind of geometry, this does instead
