Oh I'd love some effects! about fluidsynth

I've also been thinking about this myself. There is currently LADSPA support in FluidSynth, but it has been collecting cobwebs and I think it may have some crash bugs in it as well. If this was updated (perhaps also to support LV2) and add NRPN or other MIDI type messages which can be used to add/remove/change the plugins, that would indeed be sweet. Will probably have to wait though for more critical things to be addressed.

This can be acomplished using Jack, jack-rack and fluidsynth. Controlling plugin parameters from MIDI CCs is something that should be added to jack-rack, it would be cool.

Still, getting the LADSPA support working would be good, specially for stand-alone apps using libfluidsynth or platforms without a good Jackd implementation (is there any?).

Being able to map MIDI CCs to shell commands could be interesting too, but I think this would be another ticket to go for after LADSPA support is fixed.

We could change the ticket title to "Oh I'd love some effects! (resurrect LADSPA)" or something alike.

Too general and as berama mentioned, it can be done via other means. A "Fix LADSPA ticket" should probably be opened though.
