No, the plugin is not so complex. It does not support seek, forward or backward.

How long would it take you to expose the current play time to JS? I looked into it and I think I could figure it out. Though it would take me about 5 hours as opposed to your 20 minutes. Seeing as I don't know java or Obective C

I have no idea on how long will it take before diving into it, as quite busy recently on projects with higher priority.
I see that you have forked a branch and pushed several commits, just continue if you can figure it out. maybe success is just a step away.
