This extension is meant to replace the default bookmark manager in Chrome. It provides a better and more intuitive experience. It also looks cool.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• npm

  npm install npm@latest -g

Installation

1. Clone the repo

   git clone https://github.com/github_username/bkmks.git

2. Install NPM packages

   npm install

3. in Google Chrome, go to chrome://extensions/ with Developer mode toggled on.
4. Click the Load unpacked button
5. Browse to the project directory and select the dist folder
6. Click the bookmark icon in Extensions to open extension

Context menu overflows screen

When context menu is opened close to the bottom or right side of the screen, it overflows and causes the scroll bar to appear. Fix could involve checking to see if box will fit on screen when cursor points are calculated.

Modal in wrong position briefly on mount

When a modal is opened with right click or another button within context menu, the component opens in the wrong place and then flashes over to the current cursor position like it should

Make creating new folder possible

Finish the new folder functionality. Make it more intuitive. Possibly a dropdown for parent options, or put the "new folder" button inside every folder so current folder is always the parent of the new folder.

Make it possible to open multiple folders at once

Create functionality to open more than one folder in the folder view area. Tabs could work, or just side by side or in a column, several open folders at once.

Reorder button should turn into a close button when in reorder mode

When user clicks "reorder items" and enters reorder mode, the button should become an X or "close" button.

Preload preview links

When user opens a folder, preload the data for all the preview links on the page so they open quickly.
