Cannot push when using https authentication with git-remote-hg about git

I should probably also say I'm using the git-remote-hg script that comes with my distribution's verison of git (git version 1.9.0 on Arch Linux).

Okay a temporary workaround is to change my remote so it has the username AND password in it.

$ git remote set-url origin hg::https://myusername:[email protected]/forks/danliew/boogie

This is horrible...

You can also use the schemes extension, or the keyring extension.

It might be possible to add support to ask the question on the fly, but that should be tracked in a separate ticket.

I read that but I wanted git-remote-hg to use the repository's hgrc file in addition to /etc/mercurial/hgrc and ~/.hgrc. I posted a patch to the git mailing list quite a while ago that fixes this. The repository's hgrc was being parsed before the patch but the values loaded were discarded.

This patch was completely ignored, any chance you could take a look?

Yes, I saw that patch yesterday. I'll comment on it shortly, but generally it's better to post the patches here, as a pull request, that would have less chances of being ignored. I'm not in good terms with the Git core developers.
