I fould out that this was a mistake: We need to keep Language field in metadata of all records for compatibility with other projects and established ways. We should just keep it hidden and fill in "eng" when it doesn't really apply.
- Probably the easiest fix:
- Language is in the general metadata
- Its default value "eng" is filled in
- For Linguistics (and maybe "generic" too?) we don't fill in the default value
- Another possible fix:
No default value, but add a button "Not applicable", or "N/A". That will fill in this default value and hide the field.
