Are imports still there in a production build?

Also can we use new tsconfig paths directive?

Example:

{
  "compileOnSave": false,
  "compilerOptions": {
    ...
    "paths": {
      "@root/*": ["src/*"],
    }
  }
}

Generally it will be problematic to have relative imports since things will break if and when things are refactored.
