Found an escape hack: In PIC, instead of dereferencing a global, I dereference a function that contains the desired SSE constant instead of actual code. The JSON benchmark is 12% faster for non-PIC.

by using the latest ldc from source and removing the forceinline and noinline enums for ldc i made it work. dmd still does not work though

Perhaps this should remain opened? Definitely a shortcoming of fast as it stands right now.

This is painfully hard. As an optimization I use naked asm (omitting function prolog/epilog) and load SSE constants from global variables. Now with PIC, DMD cannot access any globals. So I thought I'd copy the value onto the stack first, but then I loose the option to use naked asm and DMD doesn't correctly align SSE variables on the stack in 32-bit mode, making the code crash.
