I'm not sure we want to configure something in the add-in based on something outside the add-in. So far I've been understanding the workflow needs to be withing the add-in. Keeping it simple.

When a user chooses a Data Frame with units of meters the tool should show the exact same coordinate type. This should also be able to honor the parameters that are set in the data frame properties. An example would be if the user chooses MGRS they should see MGRS in the tool.
