This enhancement is an interesting use case and appears it could save a lot of time.

@jmirmelstein Do you have a sample web app for this issue that you can share with me on ArcGIS Online?

@jmirmelstein @oevans For this, what type of workflow do you envision for this that would best suit your needs? Particularly, are you interested in:

(A) A straight replace over all other possible pop-up definitions?
(B) A copy to layers that don't contain an existing pop-up definition? (skipping ones with existing definitions)
(C) A copy over layers that are specifically selected as "to copy over"?

What are your thoughts on the following workflow?

  1. User select web map. The layers that have a pop-up definition are displayed.
  2. User selects one of the layers with pop-up definitions listed and selects "Copy/Replace on all".
  3. ago-assistant copies the selected layer's pop-up definition to every other layer. Any layers with an existing pop-up definition, the existing definition is overwritten silently.

Alternately for step #3 it is possible the workflow could alert the user to an existing pop-up definition and ask if it should be overwritten for each existing layer with definition encountered. However, for operations where many/all layers have wrong/outdated pop-up definitions that need to replaced/overwritten this could be inefficient in forcing the user to click for "yes, replace" for each and every layer. A possible prompt with "replace on this one" and "replace on all" buttons could alleviate the amount of prompts in such a case.
