Hi, I see you're using a pretty old version of iperf3 (3.9). Any chance you can try with something newer? I did some brief testing with iperf-3.16 (latest released version) and it seems to be working fine. If a current build of iperf3 is still not working for you, could you give some more information about the networking environment? What kind of network path is between your client and server? A congested path can create some issues of coordination between the client and server because the control channel uses a different TCP connection over the same routing.

netlab-pt8:iperf% src/iperf3 --version
iperf 3.16+ (cJSON 1.7.15)
Linux netlab-pt8.es.net 5.4.0-169-generic #187-Ubuntu SMP Thu Nov 23 14:52:28 UTC 2023 x86_64
Optional features available: CPU affinity setting, IPv6 flow label, TCP congestion algorithm setting, sendfile / zerocopy, socket pacing, authentication, bind to device, support IPv4 don't fragment, POSIX threads
