yes it definitely is and this is the other way we could go. Do you think it should live here and use scoringutils as an extend?

I think if going this way the only one we would need would be as_forecast_sample as all the others can be mapped to from that one using tools that either exist or will exist in scoringutils.

Thinking about this I wonder if we really want to/need to offer a wrapper function here now. Perhaps we could instead point to scoringutils via a FAQ or otherwise?

The codebase is not completely fresh in my mind so maybe I'm proposing impossible ideas but:

That would be the most robust and convenient way to ensure interoperability IMO.

Let me reformulate to be sure we are talking about the same thing:

I would remove the enw_score_nowcast() wrapper and instead provide a method, hosted here in epinowcast, to help passing epinowcast outputs to scoringutils, which users should then use directly to get its full benefit and flexibility.

Is it also your understanding?
