Only problem is, that I don't have time at the moment to change it myself. But maybe you can fix it? The idea of a proxy class sounds promising to me. If you wanna do it, just let me know.

I'll look into it a bit more and see what can be done, though it's going to take a bit of time. The research I did shortly after this about using Java proxies suggested that the amount of overhead in the code was quite high and wouldn't be appropriate for the logging framework. I hope to benchmark this and develop a solution with minimal overhead to allow for logging.
