I'm happy to submit a PR (I have made a small one before to fix an obvious issue).
However, this time I think the proposed changes/improvements are a bit subjective, so I was hoping the community might discuss the proposal to give the PR some direction/consensus. For me, the proposed changes are an obvious improvement, but others may not feel the same way.
