There shouldn't be any inherent limitation on running a command that can be run in your shell, but sometimes crafting the right syntax can be tricky. I'd be curious what command you are trying and what the resulting behavior actually is. Also, is this in Windows or another OS?

Yes, timeout from the standard prompt, even trying /nobreak. This is on Windows.
