I guess this will do the trick for now:
module Searchable
extend ActiveSupport::Concern
included do
index_name "myapp_#{Rails.env}_#{index_name}"
end
end
from elasticsearch-rails.
Hi, yeah, I've decided to not add that feature, at least initially. My reasoning was two-fold:
1/ In the new gem, index_name
is not actually bound to the model in any way, it makes sense to set it to the Rails application name with index_name [File.basename(Rails.root).downcase, Rails.env.to_s].join('-')
or something like that.
2/ After my years with Tire, I'm wary about adding any bundled, dubious, sugary logic, which positively is easy for anybody to code in couple of lines of Ruby -- as your example nicely demonstrates :)

Fair enough.
Rails.root.basename
, in a capistrano deployment will be the deploy timestamp, but [Rails.application.engine_name, Rails.env].join('_')
should work well.
