Good point, it is currently not possible directly. You can, however, use the to_dict method on search to produce the dict to then pass into the msearch method on the low-level client.

I will keep this open as an enhancement request to add support for msearch, thanks!

If I used to_dict to get the query into the low-level msearchmethod, can the results be pulled back in to es-dsl for consistency?

Yes it could, you would again have to do it manually by taking the responses returned by the API and feeding them into elasticsearch_dsl.result.Response class.
