As long as you have a bash/zsh shell -- should be perfectly fine. If I'm not mistaken, MSYS provides bash.
Please let me know if you run into problems.

Ok, I have this bash:
>bash --version
GNU bash, version 3.1.17(1)-release (i686-pc-msys)
Copyright (C) 2005 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
Then I type :PromptlineSnapshot! c:/users/klo/.shell_prompt.sh lightline
and .shell_prompt.sh
file is created, but that's all I see. I don't see anything like in your screenshots.
Next, MSYS bash is 32bit, while I run 64bit gVim. Could it be a problem?
Then, MSYS doesn't have .bashrc
- shell is initialized from /etc/profile
script, where I added the line source /c/users/klo/.shell_prompt.sh
. I also copied /etc/profile
to /c/users/klo/.bashrc
just in case. No results.
If I launch bash
from command prompt and go to my profile folder and execute source .shell_prompt.sh
in the shell I see the line that is supposed to be in gVim statusbar.

Sorry, I don't know details about MSYS.
You'll have to figure out how to make bash source the .shell_prompt.sh file on startup. Maybe you can use .bash_profile or .profile on MSYS?

All right. Thanks.
If I make something I'll additionally post.
Cheers
