Hmm... Could you tell us your system type and docker version, and what's the command of docker run.

Well, it seems that there's something wrong with mysql connection, maybe mysql server has not started yet, which will take some seconds' time. Actually we've never met such a condition in our docker env before.
Anyway, we've modified our docker start-up script file, to start hive after waiting for 30 seconds after mysql server start command, and the new image is built now, you can pull the image again and try. Hope it works for you.
