find named group by member about groupify

The idea behind named groups is that they are represented only by a name. They don't correspond to a row in the groups table. So trying to find named groups by querying the Group model won't work.

Assuming you have everything set up correctly, all you need to do is run member.named_groups to get all the named groups that member belongs to.

Thanks for your answer, I didn't know it would be so easy. I frankly speaking I've already found a solution, which is little bit better, it is only one query:
GroupMembership.where(member_type: 'ModelName', member_id: object.id).all
But once again thank for help :)

member.named_groups also results in issuing one query. :)

I wouldn't recommend directly accessing the GroupMembership model. This model is an internal implementation detail. Just stick with the named_groups association already set up on the member model.
