Very good question !
Compilation of MOF model to a structure needs some features to ease the transformation.
XML internal DSL of Scala and mixin operator was our previous motivation to build efficient solution.
Now we have re-implement severals low level features mainly for performance reason, and we still face to others (for instance Scala closure linearization seems to not be so optimized and has important impact on our generated code).
So far we need an another candidate wich still offer we mixin composition and perhaps lightwith solution at runtime.
To be honest I do some experiment on Kotlin compiler to see If we can based our next KMF on it.
The double compilation of Kotlin to Javascript is another motivation for Kevoree on NodeJS , stay tuned ;-)

I see (and tested) the generation of Kotlin code is well underway. I consider this issue as closed :-)

Hello,
Yes definitely the generated code is more closer to a hand written plain Java API.
By the way this API allows to include more easily different langage and developer without the requirements of Scala code.
I'm also involving in the porting of this generated Kotlin to JS , currently some bugs remains in the compiler of Kotlin but the JetBeans team is very responsive to our requests. I'm pretty confident to have a cross-compilation soon !
