Sounds reasonable. I've been assigning issues to milestones, as seen here:
https://github.com/drewnoakes/metadata-extractor/milestones
https://github.com/drewnoakes/metadata-extractor/milestones/2.7.0
The bulk of 2.7.0 has essentially been widely tested over the last year and the small tweaks we're making now seem fairly innocuous. I'm happy to just release 2.7.0 on December 7, and put any fixes in minor releases after that.
I'd be happy to push some of the issues you list into a 2.8.0 milestone. For now I think it serves the community best to get a release out as there's lots of new stuff in there. Let's aim to get 2.8.0 out in the month after.
Are there any issues not currently in milestone 2.7.0 that you think ought to be included?

The following issues should be part of 2.7: 36, 12, 3+8+9 (I see them as one issue.) and 5. As a note: 12 is already done and 36 does not require much effort. Also 9 is already tagged as 2.7.
Also as we are talking about tagging I would suggest to tag all "support format x" as 2.8. So the core of 2.8 would be the support of additional formats. We may not be able to do all these issues till the release of 2.8 but we can include the remaing issues in later releases (2.8.x).

Hi there,
I will be pretty busy at work this week, so I won't have time to do 3+8+9. If you don't have the time to do them either I would suggest we tag them as 2.7.1. As a release date for 2.7.1 I would suggest the 21th of December.

I think I'm pretty happy to release 2.7.0 at this point. The code's looking pretty good, and the release is a big step up from 2.6.x. I'll put together some release notes and wait for any bugs/feedback to arrive between now and Sunday.

@kenyee, for sure. That's part of #1.

Version 2.7.0 is now available. I've initiated a release to Maven Central and am waiting for it to appear.
