[Question]: conflicting dnsmasq? about windows

Yes, that instance is part of the container. And no, it is not conflicting with anything else at all. It provides DNS for the Windows machine, but you can still run another dnsmasq on your host. It should be possible to change its config by overriding the path to /etc/dnsmasq.config in your compose file, but I would not recommend that.

If you just want to use a different DNS server for the Windows containers, it would be more logical to just set their addresses in the compose file, like this:

dns:
      - 192.168.1.1
      - 192.168.1.2

There is no need to change anything in the dnsmasq config for that.

What about DHCP? Do you foresee any issues with it, as we are planning to run multiple containers on the same host?

No, no issues. What happens inside a container, can never have influence on anything outside the container. That is the whole idea behind Docker. So you never have to worry about any conflicts, because they are impossible by design.
