Yeah, I noticed the issue too. I'll see if there's a way to solve this programmatically, and if there isn't I'll patch the docs to warn about this.

What about using shlex (http://docs.python.org/2/library/shlex.html) thats built into python to parse the command if it is a plain ole string?
