Cannot install texlive in xfce chroot (on SD card) - lack of space about crouton

Nope, the chroot will grow to fit whatever filesystem you drop it in, and /var/cache/apt/archive isn't mapped to anything special (like how /tmp is actually backed by RAM). So it should be able to grow as long as the drive has space...are you sure you didn't run out of space on your SD card?

Odd - I thought I had 32 Gb's worth of ext4 on the card - maybe that was
messed up. I'm sure I specified the SD card as the target.....

I've just put a full ChrUbuntu install on the card, so I'll see if I can
dig out another one and try again.

Thanks! You can always run df -h / /var/cache/apt/archives inside the chroot as a sanity check (both should return the same numbers).

OK - my bad. It looks like a faulty card (or format) - it has installed quite happily on a different card.
