When combined with django-newsletter, the code above causes all subsequent messages to fail due to the added header, so the mailshot fails at random.
I've removed that code in my local copy. Any suggestions for what the correct behaviour should be? It's a little worrying that PII from one recipient might leak into a message sent to another, so I'm actually lucky this failure occurred

I'm not using this project actively these days, but I welcome contributions.
If you want to try out some improvements, I believe you can clone this project, ln -s into your virtualenv or site packages path where the issue happens, and have a try at reproducing/fixing. Ideally with a unit test :)
