Charset error about django-ldapdb

In the end, what was wrong?

I was setting the base_dn after creating my model instance, i thought it would be updated automatically (I was obviously wrong). So the dn was empty leading to this error. Setting the instance dn directly solved this (I must do that because I have dynamic dn of the form uid=hdfehzifgvez,ou=directory,ou=client_name,ou=clients,dc=voxtest,dc=fr, but to get the dn I have to do a ldap request using python-ldap directly which is not the best thing to do)

By the way it would be great to have some example on how to use scoped dn, i've read it might solve this kind of issue.
