I second this, having to save several times is confusing.

I second this too. It so happens quite often that even though I am warned by django-cms, I am so fast with altering stuff (eg text) that I save the page but forget/skip saving the plugin first ... changes are gone, I hit back with Iceweasel ...

I think you also shouldn't be able to switch tabs (or at least could get warned before switching to other tab) when there are unsaved changes in your plugin.

Both ways can be completed with some javascript.

I agree that this would be very nice to have. However I am not sure that it's possibly to trigger an event within an iframe from the parent frame.

Someone with js expertise should implement this in a fork.

It's absolutely possible to access the iframe(s) as long as they are served from the same domain as the script (already required for most WYSIWYG/-WYM editors.)

OK, almost ready for pull request, I just need to make some tests in Internet Explorer to make sure it doesn't break anything there.

Any update on this issue?

piotrkilczuk avatar piotrkilczuk commented on May 1, 2024

Since it is marked as 2.2 I think I can make a pull request soon.I'll have to check how related JS issues look like.

I would ask you guys to take this to the django-cms-developers mailing list (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/django-cms-developers). I don't think it will be a controversial 'feature' (or bug fix), but I think it's something that should be discussed (especially the implementation details).

I'll create a thread asap.

why close the issue?

from django-cms.

ojii avatar ojii commented on May 1, 2024

please read the comment.

These are feature requests, NOT bugs.

As stated in our announcement for the roadmap to 2.2 (see http://django-cms.org/en/blog/2011/01/31/roadmap-22/) that the place for feature requests is the developers mailing list.

Therefore we're closing all feature request issues on here and move them to the mailing list.
