Nice find.

This is resolved and will be released in the future.
This does not require a code change if you're using translation tables, which the Linux Mint package should be doing.
You can fix this by editing /usr/share/detox/safe.tbl
and add these lines anywhere after the line with start
and before the line with end
.
0x0A _ # new line
0x0D _ # carriage return

As far as I can tell, this modification has not been pushed to the source code. It would be really nice if detox was "natively" dealing with new lines characters without having to tweak the configuration file.

The change was committed on Feb 1st, and it was released in detox version v1.4.0. I'm guessing the version of Linux Mint that you're on is still using detox v1.3.0? Once Linux Mint updates itself to use Ubuntu 22.04 as the base, detox should update to v1.4.5.
You can see the package info here: https://repology.org/project/detox/versions
You can also modify the translation table yourself, if you so choose.
Or just download it from here and use it to replace your existing safe.tbl

Ok, thanks for the clarifications.
