yes but perhaps extended in the future.
Not necessary for 0.4 but perhaps if Martial has just worked on it, it could easier to do it for 0.4 than later.
But it is perhaps not the priority ;)

I just add a very simple example to test pdflatex for creating pdf with 3d image...

From the archive you can check by simply do a:

pdflatex examplePdf3d.tex
and
acroread examplePdf3d.pdf

I've got a workaround from a DGtal OFF export: meshlab which seems to be able to export to u3d.
