I'd suggest using Tailwind CSS. Not only is it highly customizable, but it also comes with tons of utility out of the box (can also be used with themeui and styled components if desired).

In my totally unbiased opinion you should clearly be using styled-components. It's the right tool for any job.

Sass/SCSS (what we're using now) is not very well-suited to theming or sharing values with JS components.
I second Tailwind CSS based on these requirements. It's indeed highly customizable and easily themeable.
