Sync with Kali developers on porting of wifite to wifite2 about wifite2

I think this bug can be closed. As kimocoder said, Debian (and thus Kali) has wifite 2.1.6 now and this has superseded the old wifite 1.x entirely.

What do you think about trading them out? Is it ready? I also would like to keep the "wifite" name.

I think Wifite2 is closer to BETA than it is to ALPHA.

But there's a few things I'd like to do before getting Wifite2 added to Kali (and replace wifite):

1. Make sure all switches from Wifite work in Wifite2 (backwards compatibility).
2. Make sure Wifite2 can crack anything Wifite1 can
   • E.g. Pixie-Dust did not work in Wifite2 but worked in the old Wifite. That's definitely not ready for prime-time.
3. Remove WPS PIN attack completely.
4. Get Pixie-Dust working consistently (for both reaver and bully).
   • I.e. identical output when running Bully & Reaver, better messaging of the attack status, etc.
5. Double check all attack methods (all WPS, WPA, WEP attacks).
   • If I can crack an AP using manual air* commands, then Wifite should be able to as well.
   • This includes chopchop, fragmentation, hirte for WEP, Pixie-Dust for WPS, etc.
6. Double check WPA handshake cracking (via aircrack-ng)
   • I think I recall a recent issue that said it's not working.
7. Figure out what Nethunter is and make sure Wifite is 100% functional on Nethunter.
   • I'm out-of-the-loop on this.
8. Announcement post in the Kali forums asking people to test Wifite2 & report bugs here.

More users testing Wifite will make me confident that it's ready to be included in Kali.

A bit late to reply, but NetHunter is just Kali in a chroot environment with an optional custom kernel Anything that works on Kali works on NetHunter just fine. (This includes both versions of Wifite, I've tested about every function this has on NetHunter.)

Just think of it as a virtual machine running Kali on Android.
Nexmon is another story however...

I have nethunter on a nexus 6p and happy to test wifite 1 and 2. The problem with nethunter atm is how active the devs are with individual device/ kernel support.

@ozsteyr Wifite2 is open for testing. If you hit any bugs, create a new issue & mention you're running on nethunter.

wifite2 is to be found in Kali repos (as wifite) running "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" upgrades the old wifite to wifite2 (v2.1.0)
