I think you may have missed the correct docs. You can build custom functions in go and JS. both are fully supported.

Sorry mate I could swear having read the doc only a few weeks (maybe months) ago and it was saying otherwise...

You're right, it was a couple of months ago that it wasn't possible.

There is a lot more to come with vacuum. I am just getting warmed up.
