This absolutely is the plan. The plan with TableTools 3 is to make it significantly more modular, breaking it into components:

  • Buttons
  • Flash buttons
  • Print control
  • ColVis

etc. So if you don't want Flash buttons, you wouldn't get the. And yes, ColVis absolutely should be a core part of this.

You are also correct in says its a busy time at the moment. TableTools 3 won't be developed until I've got DataTables 1.10 and Editor 1.3 shipped. But it will likely be the next major piece of work I do on the project.

Hi, it looks like version 2.2.0 was just shipped a couple weeks ago. This is still a bug in the project where hidden ColVis headers appear when exporting to PDF.

@stevetauber - I'm not sure how this relates to the original issue here, which was to have ColVis as a button in TableTools, rather than as a separate piece of software.

However, to answer your question, I don't think this is a bug - the mColumns option is used to tell TableTools what columns to export: http://datatables.net/extras/tabletools/button_options#mColumns . By default it is 'all'. You can set it to be 'visible' if you want visible columns to be exported only. If that doesn't work, please open a new bug with a link to a test case.
