Hi, I'm David (he/him/his) 👋🏼 I'm a WordPress VIP Customer Success Support Lead.

WordPress VIP, part of Automattic, are enterprise WordPress and are the official digital experience platform from the makers of WordPress.com.

I'm a WordPress plugin developer, contributor and international speaker. I'm passionate about inclusive language and statistics. I'm also a regular, but average, gamer, having played poorly since the 1980s.

Most of my repos are for my WordPress plugins, with many now archived and private. I work on these in my own time and take no donations for their continuation - I write and support them because I like doing so. For this reason, changes may be slow to be made but I will always try and provide support in the WordPress.org forums as quickly as I can. Indeed, that's where all support should be directed. Please use the repo's issues log to look for outstanding issues or to add new features that you'd like to see.

shareopenly's Issues

Add "Share Openly" to README to see if it helps with search

Searching for "Share Openly" in the plugin directory doesn't come up with anything. Maybe adding the spaced version to the README may help with this.

Update icon

The sharing icon is a default one right now, but I could update it to the new ShareOpenly one.

Look at margin around output

I'm just using a DIV, which doesn't necessarily add any spacing into the theme, so it can be brutally close to existing content. Maybe look to put paragraph wrappers around it or something.

Allow different post types to be used

At the moment only posts and pages can have the share option on it. I'd like to add a list in the settings, from which it can be chosen.

This would also require a conversion upon update from the old to new settings.

Add a feature pointer

Upon plugin activation, will guide the user to the settings.

Save default settings

At the moment, if a setting is missing a default is assigned to it. However, it's not saved. This doesn't cause an issue but it makes most sense for me to do so, if only for completion.
