Sounds good! I think it would be fine to close this issue then, because nobody needs to do anything specifically about this, we just have to wait for the release.

What's the version of your tools? Using your example code on DartPad channel 'main', I can see the warnings that we would expect, one on a.b.size (because a.b can be null) and one on a.bList.length (because a.bList can be null). The error on a.b.size is missing with the 'stable' channel.

This probably means that it is a known bug, it has been fixed in the bleeding edge version of the tools, and the fix will be available soon. However, right now we have this bug in the stable release, and we just have to be aware of this.

I can confirm that I see the expected behaviour (2 warnings) on the main channel in dartpad.
